of serious workers' compensation claims involve musculoskeletal injuries β€” the physiotherapy wheelhouse

chance of returning to work falls from ~70% at 20 days off to just ~35% at 70 days

Every week a worker stays off the job, the odds of a good outcome drop β€” for the worker and for your claims cost. The window to act is measured in days, not months.

What We Deliver

End-to-end workplace injury support

From the first day an injury is reported to safe, sustainable return-to-work, Thrive Recovery at Work gives you one trusted physiotherapy partner across the entire claim lifecycle β€” clinic-based, on-site, or both.

πŸ₯

Early-Intervention Physiotherapy

Rapid assessment and active treatment in the first days after injury β€” in clinic or at your worksite β€” to reduce severity, prevent chronicity and start recovery early.

πŸ“‹

Functional Capacity Evaluations

Structured, evidence-based FCEs that assess a worker's physical capacity against the demands of their role β€” giving you objective data for claims management and return-to-work decisions.

πŸ”

Fitness-for-Work & Pre-Employment

Pre-employment medicals and fitness-for-work assessments that confirm physical readiness for role demands β€” before a hire or before return after extended absence.

πŸ‹οΈ

Manual Handling & Ergonomic Training

Practical, worksite-specific manual handling instruction and ergonomic assessments that reduce re-injury risk and build a culture of safe movement across your workforce.

πŸ“ˆ

Suitable Duties & Graded RTW Support

Physiotherapy-informed suitable duties planning, graded return-to-work schedules and ongoing functional monitoring β€” so every step back to full duties is safe and documented.

How It Works

A clear, four-step process

From the moment you refer, every step is accountable β€” with committed timeframes and clear reporting back to you.

Step 01
Referral
Send us an email, call us, or use the online form below. All we need to start: the worker's name, contact number and a brief description of the injury or assessment needed.
Step 02
Rapid triage & booking
We acknowledge every referral within one business day and make first contact with the worker within 24 hours. The first appointment is booked within 1–2 business days.
Step 03
Assessment & treatment
A thorough physiotherapy assessment, followed by an active, evidence-based treatment plan. We focus on capacity, function and safe return-to-work β€” not passive, endless treatment.
Step 04
Clear reporting
A written assessment report within two business days. Progress notes and capacity updates at agreed review points. You always know where the worker is in their recovery.

Why Thrive

What makes us different

πŸ“

Genuinely local

Based in Parramatta, central to the Eastern Creek, Wetherill Park, Prestons, Blacktown and Kemps Creek industrial corridors. We're not a national provider β€” we're a committed, local team with deep ties to the Western Sydney business community.

⚑

Fast and accountable

First contact within 24 hours, first appointment within 1–2 business days, report in your inbox within two business days of assessment. We hold ourselves to specific timeframes β€” not vague promises.

πŸ”¬

Evidence-based and honest

We don't stretch claims out with passive, indefinite treatment. Every recommendation is grounded in evidence, focused on function, and aimed at the fastest safe return-to-work β€” for the benefit of the worker and the employer.

πŸ›‘οΈ

Prevention as well as recovery

Manual handling training, ergonomic assessments and worksite reviews help you address injury risk before the next claim happens. Recovery at Work covers the full cycle β€” not just treatment after the fact.

🀝

One relationship, many needs

From a single FCE to a preferred provider arrangement or a full on-site program, you deal with one person β€” Joseph Hanna, your named physiotherapist β€” not a call centre or rotating roster of unknown clinicians.

πŸ“Œ

A note on SIRA-registered Workplace Rehabilitation Providers

Thrive Functional Health can deliver all of the services on this page β€” physiotherapy, FCEs, fitness-for-work assessments, manual handling training and return-to-work support β€” right now. The one thing we cannot currently do is bill these services through the icare/SIRA scheme as a registered Workplace Rehabilitation Provider (WRP). We are actively pursuing SIRA WRP registration. If your specific requirement is scheme-billed WRP services, we'll say so upfront and can refer you to a registered provider. For everything else, we're ready to go.

Funding & Billing

Who pays for what

We work across all major funding streams and will confirm the billing pathway for your specific situation before we begin.

Assessment fees are quoted upfront. For employer-funded or insurer-funded services, we issue a tax invoice directly to the organisation or claim. All pricing is discussed and agreed before any assessment commences.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions

Do we need a formal contract to use your services?

No. Option A (on-call assessments) is fully pay-as-you-go with no formal arrangement required. For Options B and C, we typically agree on a simple service agreement that outlines response timeframes, reporting and billing β€” nothing complicated. You can test us with one referral before committing to anything.

Can you come to our worksite?

Yes. Worksite visits for manual handling training, ergonomic assessments, on-site physiotherapy sessions and FCEs are all available. We're based in Parramatta and regularly travel across Greater Western Sydney β€” including Eastern Creek, Wetherill Park, Blacktown, Kemps Creek and Prestons industrial corridors.

How is an FCE different from standard physiotherapy?

A Functional Capacity Evaluation is a structured, standardised assessment of a person's physical capacity in relation to specific job demands. It goes beyond a clinical assessment to produce an objective, documented report on what the worker can and cannot safely do β€” which is used to inform return-to-work decisions, suitable duties and claims management. We follow accredited FCE protocols and provide written reports within two business days.

What's the difference between fitness-for-work and a pre-employment assessment?

A pre-employment assessment is conducted before a hire to confirm a candidate can meet the physical demands of a role. A fitness-for-work assessment is conducted after an injury or illness β€” or when there's concern about an existing employee's capacity β€” to confirm they can safely return to their position. Both use standardised protocols and result in a written report.

Can you provide an on-site service for a large team or high-turnover environment?

Absolutely. Option C (on-site program) is designed specifically for employers with higher-volume needs, shift workers, or specific operational constraints. We'll scope the program with you to fit your roster, site layout and workforce profile β€” then deliver it on a scheduled basis that integrates with your operations, not around it.

Are you registered with icare / SIRA?

Not yet as a Workplace Rehabilitation Provider (WRP). We can deliver all of our services and bill them directly to employers, insurers or the worker β€” but we cannot currently access scheme-billed WRP funding through icare. We're working toward SIRA WRP registration. If that specific pathway is essential for you, let us know and we'll be upfront about what we can and cannot do.
